Us civil servants aren't just civil, Gregg. We're *SUPER* civil. We can smile like nobody's business.

The rest of the world, however, knows that a smile (especially the
smile of a "civil servant") has nothing whatsoever to do with being civil. AAMOF, that kind of smile is the exact opposite of civil <GG>

And our motto is "To Serve Man"

Did you ever actually try that?

No, I didn't, and yes, using XP Mode under Win 7 would have allowed me
to continue using OLXWin. However, to use XP Mode, your CPU must support hardware virtualization, and my Pentium 630 CPU did not. When I
upgraded my motherboard, I also upgraded the CPU to an E6300 duo core, and it does support hardware virtualization...

I would then have tried XP Mode, in order to run all my 16 bit
applications, except for one detail... OLXWin was the only one I had. A bit of

overkill to install the virtual PC you need to use XP Mode, then to
install what amounts to an actual second OS (XP) just to run a single 16 bit application, wouldn't you say? Install and set up a few gigs of XP to
run a single application that takes up less than 1.5 megs on the drive? Something is wrong with this picture <GG>

    Doug....

the expense of upgrading. Even as much as I like Office 2007, and its new layout, the fact is: email is just email and Word is just Word. I
don't *need* 2007, I just happen to like it.

Similar for me... I actually liked Office 97 because it was simple,
relatively small, and did everything I wanted it to do. But Outlook 98 was
a dud, and then Office 97 started misbehaving under Vista. Nothing I
could pin down... just sometimes, something didn't feel right... it would
take too long to load, or not load at all (making me think *I* was at
fault for not hitting the icon right <G>)... things like that. Office 2003 doesn't show any of that...

Long is a bad actor? Wash your mouth out dude! He's good. He did
well in "He's Just Not Into You" and the last Die Hard movie.

Matter of opinion, I guess, and let's face it, next to Bruce Willis in
a Die Hard movie, anyone can look good <G>

Also - Apple commercials rock. I don't care if they're trying to
compare two different categories. It's not Long that makes them great
    anyway
    - it's the guy who plays PC.

Agreed... the guy who plays the PC, not the guy who plays the MAC (i.e.
Justin Long is not the good part of the ads <G>)

MSFT decided, for some strange reason, to no longer include it, or several other basic "utilities" in Windows 7, after they have been in
    every
    version of Windows previously...

We need to bring back edlin.

    Could we? Huh? Huh?

Can you just see what the kiddies would do when faced with Edlin? They
    would go beserk! <GG>
