As much as I love my iMac, I have to now publicly admit that it's not as
safe as an OS as some people might think. (To be fair, I've never
laboured under that assumption and have always obtained antivirus, antispam and anti-everything software. Appearances to the contrary, I'm just not
    that stupid.) :)

Anyway....I was using Firefox and was on twitter when I clicked on what
I thought was a safe link. Immediately, it opened up a whole raft of
web pages, one right after the other, each showing scat porn, and the
speakers were shouting "I'M WATCHING GAY PORN! I'M WATCHING GAY PORN!"

At first, I laughed, thinking it was pretty harmless and I just needed
    to kill the process.

I didn't start panicking until it opened up Thunderbird (email client).
Totally freaked me out then. Fortunately I was able to kill the
processes. I'm fairly certain no emails went out (none that I could see anyway).

Apple's Snow Leapard is absolutely free of viruses. Except when it's
    not.
