Anyone seen a text only version of Wordle around that actually works? There used to be a good one on a telnet server but it went down and I can't track down the actual software to run it myself!

The server that I'm writing this from, conchaos.synchro.net has a wordle door. Maybe try emailing the sysop?

The one that's distributed with Synchronet is decent and I find myself playing that daily (I have it running on my BBS).

If you're a user, perhaps talk to your sysop about getting it enabled?

The usual one(s) require color. Does the one on there rely on it as well? I'm guessing it's the bbswordle.com door. Trying to find something that doesn't need color.

Wasn't aware that one is distributed with SynchroNet as I've been running it for a couple years and haven't upgraded.. Still on 3.19. It originally came with a couple things in the doors, but not Wordle. Anyway, are you running the one from bbswordle.com? I'm looking for text-only where it doesn't rely on color. Pretty much all the doors I'm finding rely on colors to show you a badly placed letter or a correct letter.

I'm on linux, so I could use just a CLI implementation.

Hah, replying to this just asked me to select what to quote twice! Like it started me out in the line editor, then put me in the full-screen one.

Anyway, yeah your version of Wordle is the bbswordle.com one and you need color to play it. Right now I'm connected to you on an Atari 800XL in a terminal program with no colors.

Na. There was an Atari BBS that was dialup only for a while, and I would use my VOIP line to call that with a 2400 baud modem, but it's down now. I mostly use a Fujinet(.online) device that has wifi and emulates a modem.
